Thirty years of students, and what they told me
I'm Priscilla, and I've been teaching piano in Edmonton for more than thirty years. In that time I've sat beside beginners who couldn't find middle C and students who went on to play comfortably in front of a room full of people. What I've always wanted for them is the same: confidenceand hope that the next piece is within reach.
Reviews matter to me because they tell me whether that's actually happening. Not whether a student passed an exam — whether they left the bench feeling better than when they sat down. The comments below come from parents and adult students who studied with me here in south Edmonton, and they're the ones I'd want to read if I were choosing a teacher for my own child.

In their own words: Jessica and Hannah on lessons with Priscilla
AIM Up Piano Studio holds a rating of 5 out of 5 from 10 reviews. Rather than leave it at a number, here is what two of those reviewers actually wrote.
I've had such a great experience with this piano teacher. Priscilla is patient, knowledgeable, and truly passionate about teaching. She explains things clearly and makes each lesson enjoyable. — Jessica
Priscilla teaches my daughter, and the change in her has been wonderful to watch. She looks forward to her lesson every week and she's proud of what she can play. — Hannah
Two words come up again and again in these reviews: patient and clear. I take both as the highest compliment. A student who feels rushed stops asking questions, and a student who stops asking questions stops improving. So I slow down, explain the same idea a second and third way if that's what it takes, and make sure nobody leaves a lesson pretending to understand something they don't.
The other theme is enjoyment. The ultimate goal of taking piano lessons is to add to our happiness — parents are happy to see their child learn and progress, and students are happy because they can hear themselves getting better. If the lessons stopped being fun, the rest of it wouldn't hold together.

One-hour lessons, beginner through Grade 6
What I offer is straightforward: piano lessons. Lessons are well organized and structured, but at the same time very friendly and fun as well. There's a plan behind every week — technique, reading, repertoire — and there's also room to laugh, to try something a student brought in themselves, and to go back over a tricky bar without anyone feeling bad about it.
- Beginners of any age, including adults returning to the instrument after years away
- Students working through graded repertoire and technique at a steady, realistic pace
- A structured weekly plan so parents can see what's being worked on and why
- A friendly room where mistakes are part of the process, not something to apologize for
- Lessons built around keeping a musical tradition alive, not just passing the next test
Reviewers often mention the structure as much as the warmth, and I think that's the pairing that makes it work. Students practice because they know exactly what they're practicing for, and they come back because the hour itself was good.
Book an interview before you commit
Before anyone signs up, I like to meet. Come in, bring your child, talk to me about what you're hoping for and what they've already tried. You can see the piano, ask about scheduling, and decide afterward whether it feels right. Nobody should commit to a teacher they've only read about online.
The studio is open Monday to Friday from 10:00am to 8:30pm, and Sunday from 10:00am to 4:30pm. Saturdays are closed. To arrange an interview, call (780) 965-5677 or email psyndicate@hotmail.com, and tell me a little about the student — age, any previous lessons, and what drew them to the piano in the first place.
